SPORTING QUOTES - OR NOT - AS THE CASE MAY BE
Son, when you participate in sporting events, it s not whether you win or lose... it 's how drunk you get. - Homer Simpson
When in his eighties, PABLO CASELS the World Famous Cellist was asked why he practices 5 hours each dayas reported to have replied, " because I think I am improving ".
This is especially for my friend ALICE from CAMBRIDGE PARKRUN and BRJ Huntingdon.
" Well in our country, " said Alice, still panting a little, " you'd generally get somewhere else-if you ran very fast for a long time, as we've been doing. "
" A slow country ", said the Queen. " Now here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that ."
Lewis Carroll. Through the Looking Glass

BOTH THE HALF MARATHON AT NORWICH & AT BEDFORD PROVED TO BE DISAPOINTING, WITH THOUSANDS PARTICIPATING ONLY A HANDFUL OF " EAST ANGLIAN VETERAN RUNNERS " COMPETED IN EITHER RACE. THOUGH ONE WAS IN THE EAST OF THE REGION AND ONE IN THE WEST.
The Gt.Bentley Half also proved disapointing, but was due to the weather on the original date, only 357 finishers this year.
